Blackrock Castle Observatory

Blackrock Castle Observatory is situated on the banks of the River Lee, less than 2Km’s from the city centre, the current castle was re-built in 1830 on top of the original 17th Century structure.

Highlights include a tour of the universe featuring stunning award winning interactive displays. There is an excellent restaurant on site and they also run many themed events throughout the year. This is well worth a visit.

  1. Blackrock Castle Observatory is such an amazing place. I love the Castle and the interactive exhibit, where I played The Comet Chaser and sent an e-mail to space. And they have various special offers like Space Camp or First Fridays at the Castle and Raccoon (Dramatic Dining in association with Meridian Theatre). I enjoyed it a lot!
