Waterford – Dungarvan – Kilmeaden – Waterford City

Head east from Cork on the N8 which leads on to the N25 Waterford road. It is a wide good road all the way to Dungarvan (approx 73Kms) which is a pretty harbour town with a castle at its centre.

The wide easy to drive road continues on to Kilmeaden where you can pick up the scenic Waterford – Suir Valley rail experience. Continuing along this same road will bring you directly in to Waterford City Centre. (total distance for this leg 121Kms)

Waterford City – Tramore

Leaving Waterford for the coast on the R675, it is a short drive out to the vast expanse of Tramore Beach. This is a great treat in the Summer time with all the amusement arcades which are always great fun.

Tramore – Copper Coast – Dungarvan – Ardmore

This is simply one of the most scenic coastal roads in Ireland. The Copper Coast being 25Kms of UNESCO designated GeoPark. The route continues along the R675 from Tramore as far as Bonmahon before turning inland. You can continue on this route which will ultimately bring you in to Dungarvan. However, the more scenic, narrower and less travelled coastal route will bring you from Bonmahon via the pretty medieval village of Stradbally to Dungarvan.

From Dungarvan you will head back towards Cork on the N25. After 19 Kms turn left on to the R673 for Ardmore which is clearly signposted.

Ardmore – Cork

Return along the same R673 route to the N25 Cork – Waterford road. Upon reaching the N25 intersection turn left for Cork.

  • Total Distance approximately 268Kms
  • Driving Time 4hrs 40 mins
