Cork Shore Excursions 2015

Cork Shore Excursions 2015

The 2015 cruise line schedule will bring over fifty of the world’s finest cruise ships into Cork in the coming months. Beginning in April, nearly fifty of these will dock in Cobh cruise terminal as the reputation of Cork Harbour continues to go from strength to strength. These gargantuan cruise ships will illuminate the Cork coastline between April and October, with the steady rate of arrivals and departures throughout the season providing some impressively sized ships to admire as they dock.

The Port of Cork is of huge importance to Cork and the local economy, bringing in an average of 100,000 passengers and crew to the region on an annual basis. In fact, the first cruise liner of 2015, The Regal Princess, is expected to bring in around 5,000 people on its own. This is an invaluable boon for the local economy, and the port authorities have recognised the importance of this and invested over €1.5 million in upgrading the Cobh cruise terminal, further ensuring visitors will have an excellent experience once they reach the shores of County Cork. With all the work due to be completed before the first ship enters the harbour in 2015, the visitor experience will only be positive, ensuring Cork Harbour’s stellar reputation is further enhanced.

Cork Harbour has a tremendous pedigree and history, being one of the oldest ports in the world. With plans for further expansion and improvements to be carried out in the coming years, Cork Harbour could easily return to the status of its early days, as one of the world’s busiest and most important harbours.

With such a high velocity of cruise liners entering our shores, we have put together our Cork shore excursions 2015, with trips departing from the Cobh cruise terminal to everywhere from Waterford and Blarney to Kinsale,  while there are also superb local tours through the Cork Harbour and around Cork City and the Jameson Whiskey Distillery. With so many great options to avail of, we are sure you will be able to see the best of Cork and enjoy a nice, relaxing cruise in the tremendous luxury you would expect of these high end cruise ships while you bask in the fine weather, all courtesy of Cork Day Tours.
