The Ring of Kerry is at the heart of the Kerry tourist trail and part of the mystical & unspoilt region of Ireland that has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. It has some of the finest coastal scenery in Europe and provides beautiful insights into the ancient heritage of Ireland.

Travelling directly to Kenmare from Cork, the first stop will be at Molly Gallivan’s Cottage & Traditional Farm, a 200 year old cottage and family run farm. Molly’s old Tea Shop and Barn Restaurant has a real old customary setting where you can experience Irish foods cooked and baked in the traditional fashion. The original thatched cottage now hosts a traditional tea shop and barn restaurant and you can also visit the traditional craft shop and farm.

Continuing along the Ring of Kerry we pass Kenmare and visit many famous sites such as Molls Gap and Ladies View, one of the most breathtaking views in the world. You had better keep an eye out along the way as this area is also known as the Leprechaun Crossing and although we haven’t seen any little people running around yet we are still looking for the crock of gold!

Torc Waterfall is off the Kenmare – Killarney Road and is another ‘must see’ point on the tour. The waterfall is  approximately twenty meters high and cascades through the wooded Friars Glen. Enjoy a short walk around the forest area or make your way to the top of the waterfall some 100 steps high.  We will then take a short visit to Ross Castle, a 15th century tower house located at the edge of Lough Leane in Killarney National Park.

Continuing onwards we next visit the magnificent Muckross Gardens. Renowned world-wide for their beauty, the Muckross Gardens are particular noted for their fine collections of azaleas and rhododendrons, an extensive water garden, and an outstanding rock garden hewn out of natural limestone.

Set amongst the mountains and woodland, onsite you will also find the 19th-century Muckross House, shop, cafe and working farms. The Garden Restaurant at Muckross is an ideal venue for those who wish to enjoy a relaxing lunch in the scenic surroundings of Killarney National Park before returning to Cork. (Please Note: If you wish to take a tour of Muckross House or farms a small admission fee applies).
