Cois Cuain Gardens

Cois Cuain (pronounced coosh cuann), a garden as close to the sea as it is possible to get without becoming a boat. (Cois Cuain Garden is entirely within 30m of the sea). The garden is situated on the northern shore of Dunmanus Bay near Bantry.

It has many rare Southern Hemisphere plants, as well as hardy wind and salt resistant shrubs. There are south facing rockeries and unusual trees to be seen. This garden won first prize in large summer garden section of 2000 All Ireland “Shamrock” competition. The garden has featured in many national and international publications. It has featured on Discovery Channel, RTÉs Garden Heaven and BBCs Gardener’s World and The Flying Gardener.
