Kinsale & The Old Head

Head south west of Cork for Bandon (N71). After 16Kms you will see the signs for Kinsale (R607). The Old Head is located a short distance(by car) from the centre of town.

Leaving Cork, head out of the city along the Lower Glanmire Rd (past railway station) following the signs for Waterford (N8 and on to the N25) for approximately 16Km. Take the R624 (signposted Cobh) which will bring you to Fota after 4Kms. (Fota is also easily accessible by a regular train service, which continues on to Cobh )

Leaving Fota, turn left back towards the dual carriageway At the first roundabout, take the second exit on to bridge over dual carriageway. After 50m you come to a second roundabout, take 3rd exit which brings you on to the dual carriageway (N25). Continue on to the next exit (approx 2Km) which will bring you to a junction after 100m. Turn right on to bridge over N25 to another roundabout. Take 2nd exit and follow the signs for Barrycourt Castle which is clearly visible but not well signposted.

Midleton Town & The Jameson Distillery

Leaving Cork, head out of the city along the Lower Glanmire Rd (past railway station) following the signs for Waterford (N8 and on to the N25) for approximately 23Kms, where you will see a slip road to the left for the pretty town of Midleton, the home of Jameson. (Midleton is also served with a frequent train service from the city centre).

Leave Cork on the N20 Limerick Road. After 7Kms take a left slip road for Blarney and follow the signs in to the town.From Blarney get back on to the N20 for Mallow. At the first roundabout you enter, turn right for the town centre and explore Mallow Castle and the various sights.

Take the N72 (Waterford Road) from Mallow which will bring you in to Castletownroche. In the town you have the beautifully romantic Annes Grove Gardens and the incredible Dinosaur Museum complete with life size models.

Continue along the N72 towards Fermoy, where you will ultimately join the motorway back to Cork.
